The Weekly Links: Breakfast Club Turns 30, 8-Bit 'Scarface', Dreadstar Comic Being Adapted For TV

Welcome to another edition of The Weekly Links, your weekly source for the best '80s content on the web! It's been an up-and-down kinda week for me, but the highlights included a couple things I shared this week.

I've been wanting to put together a name generator for awhile and figured I might use one of the popular '80s properties for the subject matter. Turns out, many have already been put together so I came up with my own...the '80s Band Name Generator! Using your own initials, you can come up with your lead singer and your band name with an '80s slang adjective. My band is "Johnny 5 and the Heinous Goobers." It's been fun seeing people post their results on social media, so be sure to try it and let me know what you get!

Last night I decided to peruse the Kindle store for comics and surprisingly found 8 G.I. Joe comics for FREE! I've linked each one in the post, so be sure to download them today before they disappear. They are the modern series books, but a couple are still written by Larry Hama, the godfather of the Real American Hero series.

My favorite video this week crams 80 pop culture facts about my favorite decade into one video! Watch Mental Floss' John Green drop some serious knowledge on us about TV, movies, music, and more.
