Recurrent Events Feb 19 2016: RIP George Gaynes, TMNT Board Game, 'Good Times' Movie Kickstarter,

Welcome to your weekly source for retro pop culture news, the Recurrent Events! Well, it was a bit of an up-and-down week especially for Police Academy fans. We got a reunion tease from Mahoney and Jonesey, but also learned that Commandant Lassard passed away. Weird how that happens.

It was also a great time to be a Ghostbusters fan. If you are planning to watch the new movie (like I am), we learned that the first trailer will premire on March 3. Toy Fair also might have tipped us off on who the main ghost villain in the movie might be. If you are a traditionalist, a new documentary called Ghostheads is currently asking for support on Kickstarter and a new can of Ecto Cooler was spotted on eBay.

Here are a few articles posted this week on RD80s:

My favorite video this week was an interesting delve into the world of Mario, particularly its game design. I like looking into why some games have endured so long like the Mario franchise and this insight from PBS Game/Show I thought was great.
