Retrocon 2024

Recurrent Events 12/04/15: Rambo TV Series, New TMNT Video Game In Development, Indiana Jones Will Not Be Recast

Welcome to your weekly source for retro pop culture news, the Recurrent Events! We are in the Christmas season and be sharing new and previous seasonal articles on RD80s so be on the lookout!

One of the traditions in the past couple years is refreshing the '80s Christmas Specials, Movies, & TV Episodes Playlist on YouTube so please check that out. I've found and added several new videos this year to help you get in the holiday spirit!

I had another great time recording the Recurrent Events podcast this week. I'm also very grateful for becoming the first official sponsor of the show! All month you can check out their fun Advent Calendar each day for a new gift taken directly from the pages of an Argos catalog from the '80s. If you'd like to sign up your retro website, blog, or product to be an official sponsor for just $5, visit the Recurrent Events sponsorship gig on Fiverr.

Stream the podcast below or subscribe on your favorite podcast app like Stitcher or iTunes. Your star rating or comment is always appreciated and helps to further publicize the show in the app's search engine.

Headlines discussed this week include the new Funko Willy Wonka POP! Vinyls and NECA Contra action figures, Gremlins 3 shifting to a sequel instead of a remake, Coca-Cola renewing the trademark for Ecto-Cooler, a new Rambo TV series at FOX, and Platinum Games producing a new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles brawler. Guests are Stacey Rader (@geeky_vixen), Will West (@willambwest), and Wyatt Bloom (@infamouswb).

Check out the articles posted this week on RD80s:

Thanks to Kotaku this week, I sat through an 8-minute supercut video of computers in 70s/80s/90s movies. I always get a kick out of old tech and how we used to do things. It's also entering to see how advanced computer technology is depicted in older movies as well. Check it out...
