ABOUT

Hi, Jason Gross, the founder and creator of Rediscover the '80s, has been sharing 80s pop culture online since October 1, 2011. Rediscover the '80s was created as his personal blog about rediscovering pop culture from his childhood in the 1980s. It has transformed over the years into a traditional website, offering original editorials, articles, videos, news headlines and commentary on retro pop culture from the '80s (and sometimes early '90s).

My lifelong friend Wyatt Bloom has now taken ownership and operation of the Rediscover the '80s and the podcasts therein.

It is with deep sorrow and grief that we mention that Jason Gross passed away in October 2023.

Wyatt, Jason, and other guest authors contribute to the website from time to time. Rediscover the '80s is also a podcast station which features shows like "Memory Jogger" with memories from Jason and Wyatt's childhood, a Top 5 countdown show called "Rank 'Em" featuring various guests, and "Rediscovered" which reviews obscure and overlooked movies, television, and cartoons hosted Jason and Wyatt.

Search for Rediscover The 80s in your favorite listening app like Spotify, Apple Podcasts, Google Play, Stitcher, TuneIn, iHeartRadio, Amazon, and more.

Jason has also written a short memoir about growing up in rural Pennsylvania in the '80s. Biking to Buzzards and Other '80s Childhood Memories is available in the Amazon Kindle store. It features 44 pages of short stories like riding his bike to the local general store Buzzard's, Halloween antics, and memories of playing with the neighborhood kids.

The 80s Weekly has been cancelled at this time.

Jason and Wyatt enjoyed writing and talking about pop culture so much that RD80s isn't enough! Along with Jason's friend Mickey Yarber, Jason developed another retro pop culture experience titled The Retro Network. Pop culture past and present lives on through a podcast network and website that is packed with weekly audio nostalgia, written features, and a YouTube channel with a variety of shows.

Enjoy the content and stay rad, everyone!
