She was well-known for working alongside Bruce Dern, Jane Fonda, and Jon Voight in the 1978 film Coming Home. She began her acting career in 1971 and appeared in 1980s cinematic work including The Oldest Living Graduate (1980), Seizure: The Story of Kathy Morris (1980), The Burning Bed (1984) and Heathers (1988). Her last film was Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer in 1996 as she moved away from on-screen to teaching film through the 1990s in Chicago and Minneapolis.
She became a preservationist in 2003 with her move to Saugerties, NY.
