Welcome to another edition of The Weekly Links, your weekly source for the best '80s content on the web! The big story this week was the passing of "Rowdy" Roddy Piper, the WWF/WWE hall of fame wrestler. I remember him as being one of the originals when I first started watching the WWF and Hulk Hogan's Rock 'n' Wrestling as a kid. He wasn't the most gifted athlete among the stars, but he sure did entertain when he got behind the mic. The "Piper's Pit" interviews were always something I anticipated and loved the way he could use words to stir up trouble with just about any wrestler. He was an all-time great at his profession. My pal Chad over at the Horror Movie BBQ wrote a great tribute this week.
Some classic '80s movies turned 30 years old this week. I also managed to write a rare opinion piece about some now tainted TV shows and debuted another Rank 'Em team-up just yesterday! Check out what you might have missed:
Laughing Squidtipped me off for what turned out to be my favorite video of the week. Check it out this metal version of the Ghostbusters theme that was apparently performed and spliced together by one superfan...
