Actor Gil Gerard passed away after "a rare and viciously aggressive form of cancer, " according to his wife, Janet's facebook post, at the age of 82.
Gil Gerard was born in Little Rock, Arkansas, on January 23, 1943. He relocated to New York in 1969 to study acting at the American Musical and Dramatic Academy. While driving a cab, one of his customers provided the conduit for an auditioning role in Arthur Hiller's Love Story. He spent many years in over 400 commercials before landing a role as Dr. Alan Stewart on The Doctors, then later in Man on a Swing.
Gil appeared in Airport '77 and Hooch before he was offered the star role in Buck Rogers in the 25th Century. Gil Gerard also appeared in Help Wanted: Male and the ABC series Sidekicks and many other films and television series.
