Single Notes Book Review
Careless Memories of Strange Behavior:
My Notorious Life as a Duran Duran Fan
By Lyndsey Parker

Yahoo Music managing editor and NME.Com columnist Lyndsey Parker has been a Duran Duran fan since she first watched the video for "Hungry Like The Wolf." She has come full circle since her days of writing hate mail to music critics for bashing the Boys on Film to becoming a music critic herself, standing firm behind Duran Duran's music legacy. In her Single Notes book Careless Memories of Strange Behavior: My Notorious Life as a Duran Duran Fan, she traces her love affair with band over the years and the crazy (and now embarrassing) things she used to do as a Duranie. Here is the author explaining the book in his own words:

RD80s Review:
Careless Memories of Strange Behavior: My Notorious Life as a Duran Duran Fan is probably my favorite among the three Single Notes' books I've reviewed so far. I've never experienced that obsession over a band in my life (probably sports teams have been the closest thing for me,) but Lyndsey book really expresses what its like. She's very honest about it how her physical attraction paved the way to her musical appreciation of the band (although I'm sure she would admit the physical attraction is still there.) The book is very enjoyable read of childhood innocence and knowledgeable perspective that Duran Duran fans (and 80s music fans for that matter) no whole-heartedly enjoy.
