Welcome to your weekly news update for retro pop culture headlines, the Recurrent Events! We're getting some great news out of New York Comic Con this weekend like the new season of Voltron: Legendary Defender, new comic books, and of course, fun cosplayers.
A quick note on a few things I'm working on behind the scenes. Hallmark has sent me some new Rainbow Brite items to review. My daughter will be turning 3 next month so will be fun to get her reaction. Also, my pal and RD80s contributor Wyatt and I are looking into beginning a new podcast for RD80s very soon. It's focus will be mainly on our memories and experiences around a topic or two. It's format will be loose so the show can be guided more by our memories than the history of a specific works or franchises. Make sure you are still connected with the RD80s podcast on iTunes, Google Play, and Stitcher.
Finally, I'm happy to announce a project that has taken me a couple years to complete. I'm publishing a memoir! Well, self-publishing but I'm very excited to release my first book which is centered around my childhood adventures growing up in the '80s. More to be revealed when the book is released (goal is before my 40th birthday on Nov 13,) but I hope it will be a fun read for everyone who has followed me on RD80s for over 5 years now.
