It was then changed to the theme widely known today.

    Magnum PI is a much better guess! That revving engine at the beginning threw me off, but it's probably the mustachioed one's Ferrari.

    It's just as well they changed it as I can't imagine this being remembered so fondly 30 years up the line. There's no real hook to it.
