Recurrent Events 4/30/16: 'Ghostbusters' Returning To Theaters, New 'Match Game' With Host Alec Baldwin, Lego Johnny Five Achieves Goal

Welcome to your weekly source for retro pop culture news, the Recurrent Events! Scrolling through my feed this week, the most popular topic was still Prince's death. Fans continue to mourn and wait for some answers on what exactly happened. Even more questions surround his estate and the rights to his music and treasured vault. It's very sad and now obviously a true unexpected situation. I feel grateful that so much of his career has surfaced on YouTube to rediscover, but I have a feeling it might not last.

The clock is ticking down on the Watch & Win Alien Titans Giveaway! Less than 40 hours left to enter so make sure you get your name in the hat. Star Wars Day is also happening this coming week and I'll be releasing a new Watch & Win giveaway on May 4th!

Streaming the 80s will also return this week for a look at the new movies/TV shows available in May. I'll also be posting a new game review featuring a classic arcade character.

Here are the articles posted this week on RD80s:

The Video of the Week is one of many Prince tributes I've watched over the the past week. Bruce Springsteen's cover of "Purple Rain" came to me via UPROXX and I thought it was cool that he opened his recent Brooklyn show with the song.
