The Weekly Links: Teen Witch At 25, R.E.M. Releasing Rarities, Atari Gambles With Classic Games

Welcome back to another retroclassic edition of The Weekly Links, the best stories about '80s pop culture over the past week (or so, since I missed last week.)

Did you see the new Jem movie poster released yesterday? They announced the cast, just weeks after they requested the help of fans. Shawn over at Branded in the 80s has mentioned things are moving awful quick on this film and I tend to agree for the "start up" approach they took in the announcement. Just hope they do a decent job with it and don't ruin any chances of other cartoon reboots that I'd like to see (M.A.S.K., He-Man, and Voltron.)

My favorite video over the past week shows a very talented pencil player using wine glasses and a frying pan to play the classic Super Mario Bros theme. About half way through, you can also hear the underworld theme. Fun stuff that inspired me to practice the Spy Hunter theme on my set of Garfield glass mugs...

  1. The Miata is cool but they really should replace the starter with a Start button!
