Voice and screen actor Garry Chalk, whose career spans three decades in TV, movies, and animation, is the latest addition to the Retro Con 2018 lineup! He joins Samantha Newark (Jem and the Holograms), Melendy Britt(She-Ra: Princess of Power), and Gregg Berger (Transformers, Garfield and Friends)for what will be an exciting weekend this coming October.
Chalk began his career in the early '80s with guest appearances on TV movies and popular shows like Airwolf, Stingray, Wiseguy, and MacGyver. He then began voice acting in the late '80s and early '90s on shows like Camp Candy, G.I.Joe, Captain N: The Game Master, Bucky O'Hare and the Toad Wars, Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog, Double Dragon, Street Sharks, Mega Man, and He-Man and the Masters of the Universe (2002).
He is probably best known for his voice work in the Transformers universe, first as Optimus Primal in Transformers: Beast Wars and Transformers: Beast Machines. He's also one of the few people not named Peter Cullen to voice Optimus Prime in the Transformers: Armada, Transformers: Energon, and Transformers: Cybertron shows.
More recently, Chalk has also held supporting roles in several feature films like Watchmen, Freddy vs. Jason, and the new Overboard remake. He's also appeared in TV shows like Fargo, The X-Files, and Arrow.
